How to automatically start a Process from another Process?

The "Start Process" system action is used for this purpose. It allows you to start another process from another process.

For that you need to add an action of type "Run process" to the workflow and configure it.

You can configure an action in three ways:

  1. Set a key date for the new process to the moment the current action is released,
  2. Add + X days to that moment,
  3. Set a fixed date on the calendar.Zrzut ekranu 2025-11-26 o 08.21.38

If you want to use the "Key Date" option, you can specify:

  • "Now (date)" - then the new process will start immediately after this action in the process is completed (the "Start Process" action);

  • The date specified using a Custom Field on the user's profile (read more about Custom Fields 👉🏻 here).

💡How can this be used for business purposes?

  • A Manager or other Role can receive a form where they can enter the process launch date for a given user. The date will be saved in the user's profile in a Custom Field.

  • The new process will launch for the employee on the date specified by the Manager or another Role, not a fixed date. This is flexible because the date can be controlled.

The action triggers a new process based on the selected workflow, e.g.,

  • launching "Goals" after onboarding is complete;

  • or "Employee Farewell" if the employee has rejected a job offer.

The Action handles conditions in the same way as other Action types; that is, its appearance can be dependent on the following conditions:

1. Simple conditions, including:

  • execution of another Action (or Actions),

  • Location,

  • Category,

  • Custom fields.

2. Advanced conditions, allowing you to combine multiple conditions of various types.

3. Segments, which allow you to combine a condition based on a completed Action with a selected Segment. Find out more 👉🏻 here.
