This is a single activity in the workflow that is assigned to a specific recipient, such as an Employee, Manager, or Buddy. Action types can vary, but each action has content, an assigned recipient, and is time-based.
Example of Action:
- A text message inviting the employee to Gamfi, sent 30 days before their hire.
- An email to HR informing them of the commencement of the employee's offboarding process.
- A task for the Manager: "Complete the equipment application" scheduled 30 days before the new employee's hire.
- Employee health and safety training provided 7 days before their hire.
Actions scheduled at a specific date and assigned to a specific Role create a Process template, or Workflow.
Launching a Process based on a defined Workflow causes all Actions to be automatically triggered on a key date, according to the time settings.
This way, you can automate repetitive tasks, such as sending welcome emails or delivering HR documents to the candidate.
💡Example:
- you hire an employee on September 1
- In Workflow you have scheduled Actions for 10 days before the first day, the first day and 10 days after the first day
The employee will receive these Actions respectively: August 22, September 1 and September 11.
By scheduling appropriate Actions in your Workflow, you can:
- automatically send email or text message notifications,
- transfer information and knowledge in the form of tasks or training (sharing relevant content, presentations, documents, videos, etc.),
- verify User knowledge using quizzes,
- collect essential information from Users, for example, to prepare a contract, issue equipment, or send a welcome pack,
- receive feedback, including evaluations of the Process, training, well-being before starting work, etc.
Remember: Actions will only be released to users when the Process is launched. Read more 👉🏻 here.
